I have always been a pretty physical person, it was just part of my lifestyle...no gym rat here. I grew up a competitive gymnast, that turned into competitive cheerleading, and onto a college cheer team. Growing up with that background afforded me the opportunity to teach recreational , team gymnastics, and cheer for over 25 years.
When I moved to California I found a circus studio where I thought...that sounds like a lot of fun, and having 3 small kids at home I needed something fun! The Aerial Studio is where I began my training as a circus student under the direction of Cirque du Soleil performers and acrobats. After 5 years of training, I decided to get certified as an Aerial Instructor and continued teaching Aerial, Contortion, Tumbling, and Hand Balancing. I have since retired from a performance troupe, but I was able to open my own Aerial Studio in California before moving back home to Springfield.
Once I moved back home, I found Sage Studio... a small studio with a big heart, something that was always lacking in the yoga studios I attended in California. With Shane's gentle guidance (insert sarcasm) I decided to take his Yoga Teacher Training Program, and after an on again off again relationship with yoga for over 10 years, it seemed I had found the right time and the right studio.
It has been an absolute joy to find Sage Studio and the community it provides to all that enter the Sage space.
