Philip Immekus
Hey! My name is Philip Immekus. I started my journey into yoga like a lot of others I know. I was introduced to light practice in a rehabilitation center for addiction in 2021. From there the seed was planted without me even being aware. Coming back from rehabilitation I found myself wrought with anxiety and depression. Not knowing what the future had in store for me or even if there would be one. I wish I could say that was the end of my struggle with substances and the fear that comes with addiction but it was not.
I finally found myself in surrender to a higher power of my understanding which I am eternally grateful for. I continued yoga practice with online YouTube channels. Anything to rest my mind, focus on what’s important and help restructure my nervous system. After a year of online practice I worked up enough courage to find myself in a 2 week new student trial at several locations around Springfield. I was completely hooked at that point! The mental, spiritual and physical component to yoga has been life changing.
Yoga has been a key component in helping me maintain spiritual, and physical fitness. Becoming less of a reactive person through consistent effort. Helping me see the world as it should be seen. And allowing myself to be the person god intended for me to be. I’m honored to be a part of Sage Yoga and Wellness. It is a clear indication that I’m doing what’s meant of me. Helping others help myself. Consider me your friend, your instructor, your confidant and your ally. I look forward to being a part of your community!
